Purple corn is a very fascinating and highly technical crop to grow, especially in India. We don’t have the climatic conditions suitable for growing this crop. Earlier attempts by various organizations did not yield favorable results with respect to the quality of the purple hue and the color being restricted only to the seed. We started working on the Purple corn in 2016. Since then it took us many years of R&D to improve it. Our interdisciplinary approach has resulted in a crop with incredibly high anthocyanin content from stalk to husk, down to kernels, and the cob. Anthocyanins have been shown to be one of nature’s strongest antioxidants, offering an array of health benefits with as little as 35mg/day studies indicate a substantial reduction in the risk for many chronic health conditions. North American Indians, Europeans, and the Chinese used anthocyanins in traditional herbal medicines. Our team aims to make this health-promoting food available to every household as value-added nutrition
